Immigration, Congregations, and Ministry in 2025

January 21 st, 5:30 p.m. Central/6:30 p.m. Eastern

As the new administration takes power in 2025, immigration issues are going to affect clergy and congregations across our nation. Whether your congregation has undocumented persons, ministers to immigrant families, or would like to help but is unsure how to begin, this interactive online workshop is for you! Our panel of experts in immigration ministry, rights, and legal issues will offer important information and guidance for how to effectively navigate the changing landscape in 2025.

We encourage live attendance to fully benefit from this hands-on workshop. Not all portions will be recorded.

Panelists:

o Rev. Lee Curtis is Canon to the Ordinary of the Episcopal Diocese of the Rio Grande, which includes 40% of the US/Mexico border. He has worked extensively with immigrant communities and is well-versed on Project 2025 policies on immigration.

o Jackie Lozano is the Immigrants Rights Campaign Coordinator for ACLU-WV

o Andy Hall is an immigration lawyer who will speak about where advocacy could focus and how churches can support things like refugee resettlement.

o Rev. Nelson Rabell-Gonzalez is pastor of Iglesia Luterana Santa Maria Perigrina in Stockton, California, with parishioners who are both documented and undocumented immigrants, many of whom work in agriculture in the Central Valley.

o Pastor Arthur Zetho is pastor at Milwaukee African United Methodist Church in Milwaukee, WI, and is also a case worker working on refugee resettlement for Catholic Charities.
