Examen Your Government

How to use Examen…Your Government:

  • Find a group of 2-3 people that will do this practice together.

  • Pick a level of government that you want to attend – school boards, city councils, county boards, or even state level.

    • Note: while we suggest attending in person, many of these meetings have online options and using the online option may make them more accessible.

  • Agree on a timeline of how long you want to attend. We suggest starting with 6 months or a year.

  • Download the tool and decide how you want to use it. You could print off copies and use a clipboard to use it during a meeting, you could journal the questions after the meeting, or some other creative way.

  • Share your reflections with others in your group, Church, or other space.

  • Let us know! We would love to hear from you about how you are using the tool.

Sometimes, we are more likely to use a tool when we have financially invested in it. If it is possible, we invite you to make a $10 donation to the WCC to help us continue to build tools and empower advocacy across the state.
